Today's project

It isn't often that I get the opportunity to spend the entire day working on a project, do when I woke up this morning with absolutely nothing on my to-do list I seized the moment.

This quilt top has been sitting on the desk in my studio for at least 6 months, and today it was calling my name - and miracle of all miracles I actually had all of the supplies that I need to finish it. I currently have it stretched out in my living room and have spent the whole day quilting with the company of some trashy reality tv .

The material that I used for this quilt was left from our wedding decorations, and seeing as our first anniversary is in two weeks, I am going to be insanely proud of myself if I can manage to finish this before then! Wish me luck!

More tips for dressing up yoga pants

Here I go again, rocking the sweats, what can I say, it's Sunday. But I dressed them up with my Premier, and if I can do it you can too!

My gray sweater and t dressed up with Blue Lagoon and Runway, to go with my turquoise tank. For a little more fun I added my Luau ring - sure to be my favorite accessory this summer!

Comfy doesn't have to be boring!

Every so often I can gather the courage to leave the house in leggings, today was one of those days, and let me just say, it was a perfect choice because it was a miserable, yucky day, the kind of day that screams "crawl back under the covers"!

To make my comfy leggings I added some jewels (because that's what Ido). Today I am wearing Haute Spot and Blush, along with my super cute Rosie bracelet, the classic Cairo watch, and Pearl Splash earrings (from the new spring line!). Today is the kind of day where you need a little sparkle!

My favorite dinner ever

Thank goodness I had everything that I needed to make this tonight, seeing as I didn't get home from work until 8
And was starving due to my non-existent lunch break! This is my favorite meal to make (and eat) because it tastes gourmet, but takes next to no time to make.

Barbecue chicken pizza

Pizza crust
1pkt fast rise yeast
1 1/2 c hot water
3c flour
1tsp salt
1/6c EVOO
1/6c vegetable oil

Pour the packet of yeast over the water and set aside.in the bowl of a stand mixer, combine salt and flour, drizzle in oil mixture and mix until well incorporated. Stir yeast into water and mix into flour/oil mixture until a dough forms. Place dough into clean, oiled bowl, cover and set in warm place to rise for 1 hour. This recipe makes 2 pizza crusts, one can be frozen before baking (which is AMAZING because you'll almost always have a homemade pizza crust in hand).

Toppings
1 boneless skinless chicken breast
1 bag mozzarella or Italian blend shredded cheese
1/4c diced onion
1/4c tomato sauce
1/4c BBQ sauce

Dice the chicken breast and sauté in 2 tablespoons if the BBQ sauce, set aside. Mix the remaining BBQ sauce and the tomato sauce and spread mixture on pizza crust. Cover sauce with cheese and sprinkle with onions. Top with cooked chicken and drizzle with additional BBQ sauce if desired. Bake for 15 minutes at 450F! Yum!

2 days of jewelry

Ok, I didn't have a chance to post yesterday, so here are two days of jewelry combos - Tuesday was purple with rhapsody and urbanite, and Wednesday is red and black with uptown and urbanite, and yes I do wear a lot of cardigans.

Pink and gold

My goal when I was shopping earlier this week was to only buy colorful things, I have far too much black, gray, and navy in my closet. I ended up with 3 new pink/salmon tank tops which is completely strange because I do not consider myself a pink girl. Anyway, here are two of my favorite necklaces, Blush and Morocco, with my favorite new tank, which got a lot of compliments at work today!

A very special day

Today was a day that I have been looking forward to for a while! The girls and I took a day off and went shopping, and I'm not talking your average shopping trip, I'm talking outlet shopping! And let me tell you, we were the queens of the deals today, check our some of my great finds. My favorite purchase of the day was a pair of navy blue crocs boat shoes, how adorable are they, and oh my goodness soooooo comfortable! I think I am now come rely ready for spring and summer, which is great because I can't afford to buy anything else!

That kind of day

I fully intended to try my hand at posting a step by step photo recipe a-la my idol Ree, whom you may know as the Pioneer Woman, and I made it through the first two steps with great pictures, and then I was distracted by the margarita that accompanied my dinner making process, because it really was a margarita-as-soon-as-I-got-home-from-work kind of day. So I'm leaving you with the knowledge tht I made incredibly scrumptious sausage Mac and cheese for dinner and all I have for you is the picture of my equally yummy, and very much needed, margarita.

Monday jewels

I wore my lovely Grace again today, this time I paired it with Fashion Sense. While I love the jewels I really want to know what you think of the yellow t-shirt, this is the brightest top that I've worn in a long time and I'm not sure how I feel about it, but my goal for spring is more color, so here it is!

Daily jewelry combo

I've been selling Premier Designs Jewelry for almost a year now so it feels silly to admit that this morning was the first time it had fawned on me to post my daily jewelry combos. One of my favorite things about Premier that the jewelry is so versatile and I love to mix and match, so here it is - today's jewelry!

First of all, yes, I am wearing jewelry with my sweatpants, I do it all the time. So today's outfit is pretty simple, loose gray yoga pants (they are from old navy, but they are almost 9 years old and I still kick myself everyday for not getting another pair), a white long sleeve t shirt, and one of my all-time favorite layering tanks from the Gap, shoes are pumas and I love them as well!

The necklaces are Grace and Blush. Grace is my absolute favorite Premier piece, and if you ever get the opportunity to attend a Premier Designs Style Session it is the one piece that I feel you owe to yourself to purchase :). I went simple with the earrings, Laura studs, and the watch is the classic Cairo. I had to showcase the rings because they deserve it. The spoon ring is the Vanessa ring and the other is Naomi.

If you aren't familiar with Premier I highly recommend checking out their website at www.premierdesigns.com and if you see me post something that you LOVE then I would love to make sure that you get it for free. Premier has the best hostess plan in the country and even if you don't live close to me I can always ship you a couple of catalogues an order forms and we can do a catalogue style session!

Today's accessories

I don't always get all dressed up for work because there is always the possibility that some sort of preschool-related stain will find its way onto my clothes, so on Saturdays, when the rest of the world is chillin' in yoga pants, I love to get all dolled up to run my errands.
Today I sported accessories from two of my favorite companies - jewelry by Premier Designs (I always wear Premier, but that's a whole other post) and an adorable flower pin that I got when I hosted a 31 party at the beginning of the month.
Let me tell you, I got complements for sure! Both companies have wonderful websites, and I will always support direct sales companies because I know that the women who ate selling these products are doing everything that they can to support their families. Check out the awesome products at www.premierdesigns.com and www.31gifts.com (and don't you love how perfectly the flower matches the sweater!)

Photo Friday

Nothing worth writing about happened today; work, some shopping (ok I suppose I did get a pair of shoes for $6, but good deals aside), dinner at home, and some work on the computer, so I figured the least I could do was end the day with a photo of my most willing subject. Have a great weekend!

Oh My Goodness!

Finally someone in coffee land has read my mind. If you are anything like me you have done some pretty ridiculous things in attempt to make awesome iced coffee at home, and usually it just doesn't cut it, it's never quite the same and I always find myself wishing that I had just shelled out the $4 instead of being to cheap to go to Starbucks.

Let me just say NEVER AGAIN. The wonderful amazing people at general foods international now have iced coffee already mixed with cream and flavor that you can buy in a carton an keep in your fridge. I got mine at SAMs club, six dollars for two half gallon containers so it's really affordable.

I know, I know, how does it taste? AMAZING! Very sweet and wonderfully creamy - if you are a McDonald's frappe kind of person then it is perfect. I like a little more. Coffee flavor, so I will probably add coffee to mine, but at 100 calories for one cup I definitely can't complain!

Do you know about 31?

Oh my goodness. I just received that box that I was waiting for and it was full of incredible wonderful things from 31! If you have not heard of 31 please go to www.31gifts.com immediately. It is a direct sales company, so yes that means I had one of those parties, but let me tell you that it was totally worth it, this picture shows HALF of the adorable things that I received for hosting the party, and I only paid $40! What can I say, this is a wonderful way to satisfy my bag addiction.

My latest project

I came across three large embroidery hoops and have been looking for creative ways to use them, my recent obsession with wreaths led to the first finished product, a wreath for our door with our house number on it - and I am so impressed with the way the giant flower turned out, I've been practicing that technique for 2 years and I think I finally figured it out!

Happy Monday!

I woke up to a dreary, gray Monday morning, so I tried to start it the best way that I know how... With Starbucks of course!

Today was a Cinnamon dolce latte kind of day.

At the moment I am home on my lunch break waiting for a giant package with my name on it to be delivered. I love ordering stuff, I hate waiting for it to come! When it gets here I will be sure to share the contents with you!

You can look forward to many regular posts from me now that I have my wonderful new iPhone!

Tell me what you are waiting for today!
