New jewelry re-do

Today I am wearing my new Passionista set, I had it on yesterday too, but it only lasted for about a half an hour before I was hit full-on by a killer migraine and crawled back into bed, so we're trying thins again... So far so good. I love that it looks like it was made to go with my purple and silver pandora bracelet!

Thank goodness for Friday afternoon, this day cannot get over with fast enough, then I am off for an entire week, bring it on!

Waiting...

I have been staring at the FedEx package tracking page for days!!! Do you do this? Or am I the only crazy one? Yes, I realize that it gives an estimated arrival date, but I am obsessed with knowing where that dang package is at every single moment, and if it isn't where its supposed to be when I feel like it should be (because I obviously know how long it should take to get everywhere!) then I get soooo irritated! This is absolutely ridiculous. And the the worst part of it all I that I drive right by our local FedEx distribution center on my way to work every single day, so this morning, for example, when I know that my package full of all my new jewelry is inside that building, because the tracker just told me so, I fantasize about barging in and going to get my package, can you do that? I have no idea, but I think I'm a crazy person, and I'll be even crazier if that dang box isn't on my doorstep when I get home tonight!

Update: it's officially on the truck for delivery, just did a happy dance in my car!

Me day

Today was all mine. I let myself have a little me time. I took an hour and a half drive to Ikea (it has been calling me all summer), during which I jammed to some Taylor Swift (I was the girl that people laugh at as they pass me), shopped till I dropped, and then shopped some more. If I go to Ikea I have to stop at the Gap outlet on the way home, and while I was there I found what I am sure will become my favorite outfit for the fall and winter.

Check out this adorable t-shirt dress! Talk about versatile, this an amazing layering piece. I had to take a few pictures so I could share some of the outfits I came up with!

Mmmm breakfast

I'm not usually a breakfast kind of girl, typically I just grab some coffee and go, but I spent the weekend baking in preparation for our county fair, so I currently have an over abundance of yummy choices staring at me!

This morning I went for iced coffee (gotta love that magic bullet) and chocolate chip pumpkin bread.

Today I am celebrating my last day off for the summer with the some projects around the house and lots of daytime television, not to mention sleeping in! I'm not too heartbroken though, because I am off all of next week for the great Wood County Fair!

Nautical look

It is supposed to rain all day, which means my outfit options have just grown exponentially due to the fact that I will be inside in the air conditioning all day long, and therefore, freezing my butt off!

Today I went with my blue New York and Company yoga pants (most comfortable pants ever!) and a striped Gap tank, topped with a jean jacket. Add the crocs boat shoes and my runway necklace and I've got a cute nautical look going on.

I ordered all my new Premier jewelry yesterday and can't wait for it to get here so I can show it off, there are definitely more outfit posts to come!

Party party

I'm having my Premier Designs annual renewal show tonight, the one show that I get to have all year where I get to be the jewelry lady and the hostess - which means I get the hostess rewards, yay for free jewelry!

I wasn't feeling much pressure until I realized how many things from the new catalogue I want! There's no harm in treating yourself every once and a while right? And when all else fails I can tell myself that it's a business expense! Who do you know who gets to write off her jewelry! I love this job!

I took a picture of my pretty table to share with you, along with the combo that I chose to wear for the evening, the Leilani necklace with the Baroque extender. I've never put those two together before but they make my brown cotton v-neck dress look like a million bucks!

The way it should be

Aaron and I went to the annual local steam threshers reunion this morning. We try to go every year, but usually it is so hot that we don't stay long. Today the weather was incredible, and we were able to hang out for hours and really take it all in.

This is really what life is about - spending time with people that you feel incredibly comfortable with, smelling the earth, dust on your boots, great food, and a welcome breeze. I took some pictures, but they just don't seem to do it justice!

They came! They came! They finally came! My new Premier catalogues arrived today and I cannot wait to get my hands on some of this new jewelry, my list is ridiculously long!

Life saver!

My Fridays at work are soooooo long! I think that's true for everyone, I'm not sure if it helps to have fun Friday evening plans to look forward to, or if that just makes everything worse! Anyway, here's today's saving grace!

One of many

I feel incredibly loved! I had a wonderful birthday and received some very thoughtful gifts. My mom even brought me a bag of my grandma's things that she has been collecting for me. At the bottom of the bag were these beautiful little gems - salt and pepper shakers shaped like Ball Canning Jars. How cute!

Happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday! Since I spent the weekend with some of my favorite people, we started celebrating a little early, needless to say my counter is already full of goodies!

I'm spending my day with my sister, mani-pedis, lunch, and shopping! Yay!

Too hot!

When I go camping I don't typically spend too much time inside of our camper, I can be an outdoor kinda girl sometimes! This weekend has been a bit of an exception - you see, it's 100 degrees (not an exaggeration!) and sitting outside in that is not an option!

This morning we chilled in the pond for almost 2 hours, and now it's time to soak up some AC, and do exactly what I had hoped to have time for this weekend - relax with a book!

Hello Friday!

Bring it on, I cannot wait to get this day over with!

As of 5:15pm I am off work and camping all weekend, and while I realize that it is supposed to be nearly 100 degrees this weekend, I am looking on the bright side-at least I can hang out in my bathing suit!

I am so ready for some s'mores, campfire pies and drinks with some of my best friends, because even though I may be an adult, this is exactly what summer is about. I hope the next 11 hours go incredibly fast!

What are your after-the-holiday-weekend plans?

Why did I think this was a good idea?

I always forget how long hand-quilting takes! I have been sitting in front of this thing for the entire day, and I am so ready to put it away, thank goodness for deadlines!

Even the dog is tired of looking at this thing!

Deal of the week!

I had heard that Old Navy was having a $1 flip flop sale yesterday, and seeing as it has been at least two years since I updated my flip flop collection (and seeing as I can't find it in me to pass up anything that only costs $1) I decided to check it out. It never occurred to me that this would be the flip flop version of black Friday. Let's just say I was a bit overwhelmed. I mean, really, we're fighting people to dig through bins of plastic flip flops. So, I did what I always do, waited patiently, got the colors I could manage to find without causing a brawl, and stayed out of everyone's way, it was kind of like being invisible, and that's the way I prefer it!

At the end of my 45 minute wait in the checkout line, I ended up with 5 pairs of flip flops for $5, and while a lot of people would say that it is ridiculous that I waited in line for that long, I say "what else did I have to do?" at least I can get rid of the old nasty ones now, and I consider the whole thing a learning experience because I learned a lot about the ladies behind me in line who talked non-stop for our entire 45 minute wait!

4th of July Cookies

This is what I spent my day doing - baking and frosting is my version of therapy, I get to go to that place in my head where I am totally in the zone.

I tried a couple of new things today, inspired by pinterest, Martha Stewart, and the very talented Sweet Sugarbelle, and I am super pleased with how these turned out! Happy almost 4th of July! I'm still celebrating the fact that I had time to make cookies!
