Staying cozy

It's been getting chilly around here! This has me on my annual hunt for the perfect gloves. I found my stash of gloves in the closet early this fall, and I told myself that I wouldn't need to buy any new ones this year. Ha! Of course the fact that I don't NEED them just makes me want new ones even more!

I' be been searching for just the right pair, and I can't seem to find them anywhere. I have a few criteria, I want them to be fingerless so that I can use my phone, and the problem that I keep running into is that the fingerless gloves all have covered thumbs - I don't know about you, but I do 90% of my texting and swiping with my thumbs. Plus, they have to be cute, I'm not willing to spend money on something that's not cute!

Since I haven't been able to fund exactly what I want in the store, I decided to make them myself. There's my type A personality for you, I can do everything best if I do it myself...

We got our first snow of the season, which has motivated me to finish these, this is an in-the-middle-of-the-project photo.  I can't wait to show you the finished product, I have visions if lace and buttons and complete girliness!

Bored...

I think I've got the winter blah's, which is kind of ridiculous because I have so many things coming up to look forward to, but I just can't seem to get back in the swing of things.

I'm used to being busy, ALL THE TIME, so I think that has something to do with it, for the last two weeks I have had nothing that needed done and nowhere that I needed to go.

At firs I relished the opportunity to read, watch tv, and shop whenever I wanted. Now I'm ready to go again. I need to do and see and accomplish because that's just who I am!

No worries, my craziness starts again this weekend, just a couple more days :)

Happy everything!

I know that the holidays are officially over, but that title says it all. I love my life at the moment. My Christmas decorations are all put away, and as much as I love them, I feel like I've gotten my home back.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my Christmas break immensely, but between Christmas and New Year's Eve I felt like I was rushing to squeeze it all in. Now, I can relax. I've spent the last 3 days watching an entire season of Revenge, finishing the two books that I bought to read over break, working out, and curling up on the couch under a heap of warm cozy blankets.

January may just become my favorite month of the year. Although I might enjoy it more if I could get the heater in my studio going so that I could break in my new quilt stretcher, I've got a couple of projects that I'm itching to finish!

It's winter

The calendar may still say fall, but I am officially welcoming the first cold of the season. This, paired with the fact that the temperature outside dictates the need for gloves and scarves, means that it is winter in my book.

I'm trying to get through the day with lots of cold medicine and coffee so that I an enjoy my mom's retirement dinner tonight! Hope your Friday is great, I am looking forward to my last completely free weekend until next January! I will be sleeping in and hanging out in sweats, just 4 more hours!
