What I'm looking forward to

I'm a girl who likes a little variety in my life, so I suppose it's a good thing that I live where I do because the weather provides plenty of that. Last Tuesday it was negative 15 degrees, Friday it snowed 3 inches, and today we reached a record high 63 degrees. Thankfully it was gloomy and rainy, because if it had been sunny I would really be itching for spring right about now, but I did take advantage of the warm weather to wear my favorite maxi skirt and indulge in an iced latte, my summer time go-to drink.

Luckily the rest of my winter looks like it should move pretty quickly, as I get ready for an already jam-packed spring. Right now I'm really looking forward to our last minute vacation to Nashville this weekend. I wanted to squeeze in a trip, and this weekend looks to be amazing. We have tickets to see Carrie Underwood at the Grand Ol Opry and I cannot wait to spend the whole weekend in the gorgeous new boots that I got for Christmas!

On the bright side...

It has been ridiculously cold here this week, but I have managed to find the silver lining. I can honestly say that I have been more motivated to work out than ever, simply because a good work out raises my body temperature enough that I am no longer shivering. Pair that with the cute exercise clothes that I bought last weekend and I just may keep off the extra pounds from all of that cookie dough!

Brrr...

I spent my day off outlet shopping with the girls and we had a blast, except for the part where it was 15 degrees and blowing snow. It was so cold today that I thought I would wish for some summer sunshine and show you one of Premier's new summery pieces - the Dakota necklace.

I love love love turquoise, and this piece is long and simple, and so easy to add to an already summery outfit. Here are photos of some great combinations!

What I'm wearing today

Here's another new piece from Premier Designs! This is the one that I happen to be wearing at the moment, the Over the Moon necklace. This one is well on its way to becoming one of my all time favorites because I love any piece of jewelry that I can wear with a t-shirt or a dress!

New jewelry - Francesca necklace

Premier designs has new jewelry available for spring! I got my favorite pieces this week, and of course I have to share them with you. It seemed only right to start with the piece that I've worn the last two days in a row, the new Francesca necklace.

Here's a photo of the necklace, a two tone antique matte piece, along with some great combinations.

Oh Martha

Every time I get a new issue of Martha Stewart Living I flip through and think to myself "why am I paying for this, it's all flower arrangements and recipes that I will never make." But then, I inevitably find one beautiful gem that jumps off the page and screams "this is why you pay for this!"

This month it's this adorable, and completely do-able zip tie heart garland. I love this and will completely be making one for some reason or another. Thank you Martha.

Book review - The Cookie Dough Lovers Cookbook

I asked for a lot of cookbooks for Christmas this year, this is one that I didn't receive as a gift, so I bought it for myself :)

I love the idea behind this book; everyone loves cookie dough, even though we know that we aren't supposed to eat it, so here is a book filled with recipes that are made using egg-free cookie dough, which is perfectly safe to consume raw... Safe other than the fact that I just may gain 5 pounds...

The photos in the book are gorgeous, they absolutely make me wan to try every single recipe. The other thing that I love about this book is that their is something for absolutely every taste and culinary skill level, from Rice Krispie treats with a layer of cookie dough to cookie dough filled cannoli. There is even a breakfast section - cookie dough sweet rolls or waffles anyone?!

I can't wait to try some of these, although I really think that I just may have a bowl of egg free cookie dough in my fridge at all times now. Forget the cute recipes, nothing is better than cookie dough straight out of the bowl!

So true!

My absolute favorite candy is Dove Promises Dark Chocolate. I really dolce dark chocolate, but the best thing about these are the quotes on the wrappers. I have been seriously craving some chocolate, and I was all set to buy the valentine version, because what is better than chocolate shaped liked hearts, so I was super bummed when they didn't have them. But it's not like I was going to not buy chocolate, so I bought the regular ones. The first quote that I got made up for the lack of lovey dovey heart shaped cuteness!

Sunshine!

It's sunny today and my mood is currently matching the weather! Granted I've only been up for about an hour and a half, so it's pretty easy to be in a good mood, especially since I had time to go to Starbucks this morning.

I'm celebrating today, celebrating the fact that its sunny and that it's Thursday, which brings us that much closer to Friday!

Bored...

I think I've got the winter blah's, which is kind of ridiculous because I have so many things coming up to look forward to, but I just can't seem to get back in the swing of things.

I'm used to being busy, ALL THE TIME, so I think that has something to do with it, for the last two weeks I have had nothing that needed done and nowhere that I needed to go.

At firs I relished the opportunity to read, watch tv, and shop whenever I wanted. Now I'm ready to go again. I need to do and see and accomplish because that's just who I am!

No worries, my craziness starts again this weekend, just a couple more days :)

Happy everything!

I know that the holidays are officially over, but that title says it all. I love my life at the moment. My Christmas decorations are all put away, and as much as I love them, I feel like I've gotten my home back.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my Christmas break immensely, but between Christmas and New Year's Eve I felt like I was rushing to squeeze it all in. Now, I can relax. I've spent the last 3 days watching an entire season of Revenge, finishing the two books that I bought to read over break, working out, and curling up on the couch under a heap of warm cozy blankets.

January may just become my favorite month of the year. Although I might enjoy it more if I could get the heater in my studio going so that I could break in my new quilt stretcher, I've got a couple of projects that I'm itching to finish!
